How to Apply

imgPublic primary and secondary school

Primary One

International students interested in applying for admission to a public primary school at the Primary One (P1) level must be 6 years old as of 1 January in the year of school admission, and may only register during Phase 3 of the P1 Registration Exercise after all Singapore citizens and permanent residents have been allocated a place in the earlier phases. The documents required are as follows:

1.

Applicant’s birth certificate

2.

Applicant’s passport

3.

Applicant’s immigration exemption order, Dependant’s Pass, Student’s Pass or Long Term Visit Pass if any

4.

Both parents’ passport, NRIC, entry or re-entry permit

5.

Both parents’ Employment Pass, Work Permit or Long Term Visit Pass if any

6.

Applicant’s immunisation records

Parents of applicants will also be required to bring the offer email received from MOE HQ and any other documents specified by the school. You may refer to the Primary One Registration website for more information or contact us for assistance with the registration and application for your child.

Primary 2–5 & Secondary 1–3

International students interested in applying for admission to public schools at the Primary 2-5 and Secondary 1-3 levels are required to sit for the Admissions Exercise for International Students (AEIS) or the Supplementary Admissions Exercise for International Students (S-AEIS) which are centralised tests on English and Mathematics. The documents required are the same as application for the P1 level as detailed above.

Do note that admission is not guaranteed and is subjected to various factors that include the applicant’s test performance, school vacancy and the declared residential address of the applicant. As the acceptance rate is relatively low, parents are advised to consider alternative education options in advance and may contact us for assistance with the preparation and registration for AEIS or the suggestion of alternative education options.

imgInternational school

International schools are generally the preferred choice for parents of international students. In addition to the international and country specific curriculum on offer, the heavy emphasis on experiential learning by their students is a huge draw to parents who believe in its benefits over the more traditional approach often employed by local schools. While the exact documents required may differ slightly from school to school, the following are standard documents that will be required for application to most international schools in Singapore:

1.

Applicant’s birth certificate

2.

Applicant’s passport

3.

Applicant’s Dependant’s Pass, Student’s Pass or Long-Term Visit Pass if any

4.

Both parents’ passport

5.

Both parents’ Employment Letter

6.

Applicant’s immunisation records

7.

Official transcripts or school reports (translated into English and certified if in other languages)

Due to their popularity, the number of applicants at international schools for each intake often outnumber their student vacancies, hence parents are advised to consider alternative education options in advance and may contact us for assistance with the international school application for their child or the planning of alternative education options.
